General Question
Is it a good idea to send resume through mail/fax?
A positioned at Limited Brands opened up that I am really interested in and meet the qualifications for. My boyfriend’s sister has worked for them for several years and got me an interview about a year and half ago but I lost due to not having enough experience.
This time I saw the company open a new position in a different department (Recruiting instead of HR) and I meet all the qualifications. I immediately applied after it has been posted for only 2 hours because I know I can easily get lost in the pile if I wait too long. I also listed my bf’s sister down as a reference with her permission. To increase my chances of an interview, I asked her if she knew anyone who was in charge or if she could get my resume in. She said she didn’t know because they fired so many people, it was like a mass firing/cleansing…kind of scary lol.
So since she didn’t know who was in charge, I thought I could fax my resume in. Is that a bad idea? I feel like she could easily find out who would be in charge but I don’t want to pressure her… when I worked in HR, I remember people once in a while mailing and faxing their resumes and it was much easier access to me so I could review their resume quicker.
