Have you always felt confident before starting a new job or have you had extreme anxiety at the thought of not being able to cope?

Sure but I give myself 3 weeks to get with it, week 1 your overwhelmed and information is coming in all directions.
Week 2 your weeding out the junk info and starting to grasp the job.
week 3 your getting into the jist of the job and getting down to work.
I know this may sound trite, but it might help to really look at your situation: You will either succeed or fail at this new job. You will try your best, but sometimes a person and a job are just not the right fit. And that’s ok. If you find that you are unable to perform at the level you are expected to at that job, then…well, you are unable to perform at the level you are expected to at that job. Then it’s time to move on.
When I am uneasy about a new job, it helps to frame this in a “good fit” context. It keeps it from becoming too personal or feeling bad about it. And it helps reduce any anticipatory anxiety that usually accompanies a new job.
I’m with @syz. I suffer terribly with imposter syndrome so I always have self-doubt before I start a new joy. My self-doubt has never been proved to be correct. They obviously have faith you’re the person for the job, they appointed you. I doubt they will expect you to arrive and to know everything immediately. Enjoy your new position.
Sure, every time.
You’ll do great, @ZEPHYRA. Go get ‘em!
Your feelings are pretty normal. Everyone is a little scared when starting a new job. I’m sure you would not have been hired if they didn’t think you were qualified.
