Our town is offering free installation of Stainmaster. Our carpet is disgusting, ruined by two grown dogs.
If you own Stainmaster please explain why you love it .

Why would a town offer free carpeting installation? I don’t know anything about Stainmaster but I’m curious.
The town isn’t. I was in error. The store Lowes is offering free installation so I assume the carpet is very expensive.
Last year I purchased stainmaster carpet for my bedroom. we have hard wood floors in the whole house and wanted carpet only in our bedroom. Lowe’s offered the free installation also.
You purchase the stainmaster carpet at the regular price a yard (they have all kinds of prices, from cheap to expensive) and they install it for free. they did charge I think it was $60 for the measuring. They don’t take your word for it, they send a technician over to measure. also the padding comes in different prices from cheap to expensive. They push the thicker more expensive padding.
Stainmaster comes in a lot of different colors and styles. We have no pets but in your case go with a color and texture that your pets won’t ruin. Dogs on carpet pretty much suck. why not go with hardwood?
anyway to answer your question, I like our stainmaster carpet which is a light beige. It stays clean but then we are two old farts with no pets. :)
Why not “go with hardwood?” We have hardwood and it’s too expensive that’s why. And my s/o would insist it match perfectly, too.
gee, did I make you angry? your tone sounds like it. I didn’t intend that, I thought I gave you a pretty good answer.
Angry? Of course not. But stay away from pets. You fall in love with them and regret it after they ruin your floors, bark at the neighbors, go poo on their yards , embarrass you to death but you must keep them because they’re now part of your family and they love and depend upon you! ok; dogs are worse than cats.

If you adopt a pet willing to work with him/her, and, just as importantly, with realistic expectations, there doesn’t need to be regret.
@Aster hey watch it! I know what it is like to have a pet. I had a cat for nineteen years. she was like part of the family. :)
The wife and I dislike all carpets, we ripped out the carpet years ago and never looked back downstairs is tile, up stairs is all REAL hardwood, but then it’s just the two of us and a crazy cat.
but when we bought the house it had stainmaster carpets and I was impressed at how it shrugged off stains.
When you say, “shrugged off stains” what exactly do you mean? You mean something came up easily right after it was spilled or old stains came out using???
