Is a Direct TV dish worth anything?
I cancelled my service yesterday. They’re going to send me boxes via UPS so I can send the box and remote back, but they said they don’t ask for the dish back. It’s mine to do with what I please. I figure they’re hoping most folks will be too lazy to take it off of their roofs (why isn’t that ‘rooves’? As in “hoof”, “hooves”? Free advertising and all.
However, I WILL be getting it off the roof, and I wonder if it’s worth anything.

It’s good to make a clumsy, heavy frisbee.
I’ve seen houses where one occupant had a dish, then cancelled and moved. The next occupant also had a dish but the TV company didn’t remove the old dish, just put up a new one next to the old one.
They would make a nice bird bath!
I could put it up on top of the car and rig it so it spins around.
Ha ha! I know! I’ll go up there and paint a big red circle with a line through it on the dish!
Is it a Franklin Mint limited edition?
LOL! It’s limited alright!
They are not worthless, I think you can still pickup free to air with them if you have a receiver.
I am told the are almost worth the powder to blow them up.
I’ve heard of people using them in solar stove experiments. Have to cover the dish with alum foil to get it shiny enough.
They’re pretty much worthless. Maybe you can take it to a metal recycler and get a buck out of it.
