Can one open a body bag from the inside?
In case the person wasn’t dead.

After not too many minutes, it wouldn’t matter anyway. Most body bags are plastic, I think, and therefore not air permeable, so a live person placed into a body bag wouldn’t take too long to suffocate.
The short answer is ‘possibly’, but not because it has a double-sided pull zipper.
Since most body bags, at least in the US, are made of plastic, it wouldn’t be too hard to work the zipper down from the inside with a fingernail or to punch a hole in the bag. However, some body bags come with locks (I don’t know why), some are made of heavy duty plastic or double lined in order to control contamination. In the cases where one of the latter types are used, I seriously doubt that the body is still alive.
If you are considering using a body bag for a Halloween costume, consider turning it inside out so that the zipper is on the inside. :)
My assumption is when someone sees a body bag thrashing and flopping about they are bound to take notice and probably open the bag to see what is amiss. Although, they may too be unleashing a zombie if they aren’t careful.
Maybe have a little body bag bell. lol
Except in New Jersey, @majorrich. In NJ they’d have a tire iron handy to smack the appropriate end of the bag a couple of times, as needed.
@CWOTUS The prudent probably hit both ends and quite a few places in the middle repeatedly until the crunchy bits disappeared.
Oh my! the comedy sketches that flash though my mind at the thought of that! Probably not good for children.
Your best bet is to bite through it. Biting always works…
