Can Mother Nature suffer fits of dementia?

Asked by stanleybmanly (24153points) October 31st, 2014

I took a look at the yard through the back window this morning. The apple tree instead of being naked of foliage as it is every Halloween, is not only fully leaved, but covered with the white blossoms appropriate in May. I would prefer to believe that it’s merely the tree itself that’s gone insane, but there’s another big plant 15 feet from the apple tree ( the wife calls it a “potato tree”) festooned in the beautiful purple blooms we see every spring. Anyone here capable of explaining this?

We had a fake Spring one January a few years ago and I remember a weeping cherry in bloom.

Mother Earth is going through a climate change; whether or not it is human-created is another discussion.

It’s why we call her “Mother” Nature, after all…

We had the same thing happen to our pear tree, but only on one small branch. Now we have two tiny pears trying to survive our first frost.
