How do you wallow?

When you’re down in the dumps and need to wallow, what’s your favorite way to do it? Marathon sleep, clean the fridge, watch old movies, pizza and ice cream? Hit me with your best shot.

ice cream is my remedy for everything.
The first bit of advice is to refuse to wallow.
But given that is not always 100% possible…
Exercise. Really hard core vigorous exercise.The kind that makes you bend at the waist with your hands on your knees and suck air. The kind that makes you sore the next day. P90X, and the like.
Really depressing music, which doesn’t help a damn thing, but I can’t seem to stop myself. Also, I draw, paint, make digital art, or attempt to write. They’re all attempts, actually, because when I’m that sad it’s hard to motivate myself at all.
Cheesecake, movies, not necessarily old, some music, a hot bath, crying, talking to myself, sometimes a long drive, depending on the weather.
I don’t wallow for long, I have something inside which always wants to move on from that
Bed. Netflix. Kleenex. I’m a crier.
Right now I am curled in a queen size fuzzy blanket. listening to relaxing cds. Will get some water soon. Is snowing right now.

Pajamas at 5 o’clock, anyone?
@janbb, do you really know anyone who would clean the fridge when they wallow? That person needs help STAT.
If I want to wallow in my misery, and it happens occasionally, I’ll put on sad music or watch a soppy film and eat food I normally wouldn’t let myself indulge in. Pyjamas are essential wallowing wear. I’ll be right over with something yummy and some films. Do you have a favourite wallowing film? I don’t. It’s got to be soppy though.
I only allow myself a short ‘wallowing’ window. Then I’ll force myself to get back into life through work, exercise or something similar.
How many ways to swallow are there?

Long hot shower.
The easiest way out is usually a drive to someplace I’ve never been to before.
I have a few ways, depending on the reason for the wallow. Unfortunately, I do have a propensity for depression… might be genetic, might be part of my brain injury/PTSD, or it might just be a habit.
I like long drives-those really were the most helpful, but after gas prices shot up- I don’t take random long drives anymore.
I used to sleep for 15–18 hour stretches. I am a lucid dreamer and that “other world” really was comforting and addictive. I realized it was too addictive and avoid that strategy nowadays.
Now, if I have time to wallow, I create my own TV marathon on Netflix. During my most recent episode, I started Bones, season 1, episode 1. A few days later, I stopped at episode 14.
If I want a mini-wallow, a hour long soak in a hot, hot bath really does help.
If I have energy to expend… like nervous energy anxiety bouncing off the walls but trapped feeling, I like to take out my djembe or bodhrain and bang away.

There is something marvelous about the word “wallow.”
And I’ve wallowed well today. Drew a Frodo, baked brownies, talked on the phone and just watched “The Blechley Circle.” I’m quite over the grumps.
My sister and I still make jokes about, “It’s not irrelevant; it’s a hippopotamus.’’

Sleep in late, long leisurely breakfast with lots of coffee and a book. Later that evening, drinking wine and reading. While feeling really sad and slug-like the whole time.
Mope around whinging,whining and whimpering to anyone who will hear.
My husband has a gesture for “wallow…” He puts one thumb in his mouth and rubs his earlobe with his other hand. That often is funny enough to get me out of a wallow.
I rarely give in to wallowing for more than a few minutes. Instead, I’ll clean the house. At least then I feel like I accomplished something, which beats the wallow.
Housecleaning is great for me because I can do it mindlessly.
A walk to the store to get a frozen pizza (forty minutes of exercise and people, which is why I don’t keep pizza at home). I usually feel much better after that walk. At home, I get into my pyjamas, turn off my mobile, and start watching Friends while eating pizza. Friends is “comfort TV” to me.

Oh. This is at the line of what I don’t want to watch in terms of scary but not over it.
@longgone There is a creepiness factor, but it’s more about the thought process. Do you like Sherlock? If so, you will love this. Also, there are very few episodes, so I say give it a try! :)
I have been wallowing quite a lot recently and I am ashamed to say that this usually involves whiskey.

Depending on the weather, I like to get in my car, blast my music and drive around in the mountains.
