When is the 'iPod Touch' 2.0 Software Being Released?

Nobody really knows yet. I have been checking and nothing official is out.

It still says “Coming Soon” for the app store.

edit :: The store is out already. The firmware to install the apps is still unreleased.

3 hours ago someone ask when the apps store will open… In the answers they show how to get 2.0! I’ve loaded it… It’s great!

Through iTunes? I’d say at just about 10 o’clock tonight – for us Aussies, that is. That’s when the iPhone will go on sale in the US, and therefore probably when they’ll release the update for everyone else.

Yes, I’ve been trying for the last 30 minutes. Now it says that the current version is 1.1.4!

Now it’s back to saying that there’s an updates, but it can’t connect.

You click learn more and then you get the error!!

Mine thinks it’s current version too, and everyone’s iPhones are getting locked and screwed over with the update. (according to people on engadget)

someone with an ipod touch clicked update earlier when it was released and it said 2.0 was latest, and he hit more info and then it told him 1.1.4 was newest, so… yea

Why didn’t they prepare for this? They should have expected millions of people to tap their servers all at the same time.

take that back, mine is starting to show that there is 2.0 out there and shows an “ipod” background in the store, but then it drops out of it because the store is down.

Apple should have hired the Firefox team for this morning lol

Firefox’s servers went down for a little while at the start of the downloads too. I expected more from Apple…

Maybe it will be up by 11AM eastern (8AM pacific) If It isn’t, I’ll be really angry.

Heck no I’m not waiting, apple said this stuff would be released originally back in February, then in March, and Australia said June, and then finally Apple said July, I’ve waited half a year and.. no..

Apple and I don’t get a long, people think I want a macbook pro or an apple computer… I’d get one and after a day i’d be like this is useless I can’t do anything with it so.. yea

and I still can’t wait to pay them when I already paid them before, I think people that payed $20 for the add on pack should be able to get 2.0 free honestly…
that’s never going to happen, but hey… watch all the new ipod touches come out of the factory with 2.0!

well i’m not totally complaining… i’m glad i decided not to wake up at 8 AM and get it the second it came out, but waiting an hour and some odd minutes didn’t seem to be the cure either…

once again thinks 1.1.4 is latest, oh my freaking gord apple you can’t be serious.

Wow it isn’t just us ipod owners, AT&T stores are shutting down and sending people home with their useless 2.5G iPhones, and their useless 3G iPhones and they will have to activate the new ones through itunes.

hahah, apple is suffering severely in the stocks, it’s dropping almost half a point a minute right now. Someone put up a link at engadget and i’m watching the apple stock live.. drop like madness.
