If you lost your occupation tomorrow, and couldn't go back what would you turn to?

For myself if I lost truck driving, I would go back to a trade school, and get certified in heavy equipment operating.
What would you do?

I like playing with all kinds of big equipment, Dozers, excavators , loaders ,and so on.
I could see myself turning that way if trucking ever let me down.
I may be laid off in the next few months. Since I am nearly of retirement age, I might not look for another career but rather do volunteer work.
@janbb If you can afford to go that way, I wish you all the best.
Librarian. A very naughty librarian as per my girlfriend’s wish I suppose. I do love books and all the worlds and knowledge inside them.
I’m studying to be a speech therapist. If I couldn’t do that anymore, I’d go back to being a teacher assistant (in a special needs classroom) until I could figure out my next steps.
I like the idea of heavy equipment operation. I operated a cat and a front-end loader when I was a kid helping my grandfather at his silver mine. As a Diesel mechanic I had to drive a wide assortment of vehicles. But I’d probably go back mechanicing with an eye on heavy duty automatic transmissions (Detroit Diesel engines, Allison transmissions).

Free lance writing
Personal security for wealthy famous people
Take Eric Prince’s job offer
Marry a really wealthy woman (Assuming she would have me)
Etc. etc.
@SQUEEKY2 don’t worry, I’ll make sure it’s all quiet in the library. Lol
Hey, about marrying the rich woman…
My girlfriend is the coolest, smartest and most beautiful woman on Earth. I would hate if anybody thought I was serious. So I take that back.
@josie find a way for your girlfriend to either win the lotto, come into a sizeable inheritance, etc. Girlfriend becomes a rich woman. Problem solved.
No going to school? Guess I’l go for self-teaching. Don’t worry, I know what I need. Some school subjects are just a waste of time and are to learn just to forget. I prefer self- teaching.
I would take my high school over again.
Personal shopper.
I would contract with a few families to provide all their shopping needs.
Well, probably not shoes.
Bonded, I would pick up a list of needed items, purchase them, then enter the home, restock the groceries and leave other items in the appropriate room.
Hubby needs a pair of jeans? Leave 5 pair on his bed according to his tastes, go back 3 days later and pick up any returns.
^ Pimping is usually an outward directed occupation, like being a con man, it won’t make any sense to con yourself. I could as easily be a drug mule I guess. A hit man for some gang would be nice, but I would have to kill my employer after I got paid for the hit to make sure he/she would not turn a dime on me.
@SQUEEKY2 I passed high school with a 61% average. . I would like to get a higher score and go to universty, a real one.

@cookieman ya know for an overweight middle aged truck driver that could work.
I would be well and truly screwed because I’m already doing what I wouldd do if I couldn’t do the career I went to school for 7 years to do…
Open a bed and breakfast.
I quit my occupation and am spending the time fixing up my home to sell next year.
My bank account, a sun drenched beach in the caribbean & a gaggle of bolivian prostitiutes (female)
Is probably try to get into law enforcement. That might be cheating, though, because I work for lawyers now. What I mean is that I’d go into the criminal law side of things. If that’s still too close, I’d go to grad school. For what? No clue.
I lost my occupation. And I don’t know what the hell to do, except apply for random jobs.
I’m just tired, @SQUEEKY2. Tired of starting over all the time. Tired of losing jobs through no fault of my own. My original plan, when I graduated from college in 1993, was to get a teaching position and do that for the next 30 years, then retire with grace and dignity. Just didn’t happen. And this most recent blow has really sapped me of drive and desire. It’s like, “What’s the point any more?”
Sorry to hear that, but I do know the tired feeling.
Candy Cane callin Rusty Nail, talk to me sugar
Drive a cab, probably.
I’ve done it before.
May as well do something familiar until I find something safer and more profitable.
