Best version of "A Change is Gonna Come"?
I love the Sam Cooke version but there are a lot of other artists who did this song. Do you have a favorite version? Which one?

By far the Sam Cooke one is my favorite. You could just feel him in the song. I’ve sang this song so many time’s, and everytime I do it, I think of his version as the basis.
I did a bit of browsing on itunes. I liked the Otis Redding and the Aretha Franklin versions. For something a bit different, Billy Bragg.
I bought the Solo version thinking I could get a longer eight and a half minute version—- wrong! Its two songs slapped together and the second one is really bad. Yeah, the Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin ones are good. I will check out Billy Bragg—haven’t heard that one.
The Sam Cooke version gives me chills…
I think it is pretty hard to top Sam Cooke or Otis Redding or even decide between them.
I like the way rock diva Tina Turner does it.
For something completely different, how about Canned Heat or Bill Frisell’s gorgeous instrumental version?
