That is before we wipe our selfs out, with over population, conflicts, pollution, and just plain greed?
Think there is a chance?
Or are we doomed?

I know I won’t see it in my life time, but I would like to think we could get there.
Yes. As soon as we get a destination first.
Uh does Mars ,ring any bells?
@SQUEEKY2 Yes. but you said deep space. That means outside of the solar system. People will walk on Mars with in 29 years.
Sure, it’ll happen, but that’s a long flight. Talk about stale peanuts.
@Pachy shouldn’t be to hard to keep your nuts frozen and fresh for ya. :D
True, @SQUEEKY2. It IS pretty cold in deep space…
Only if we figure out how to go faster than the speed of light. Rockets won’t do it.
The only reason I can think we would want to do that would be if we discovered a habitable world out there that we could colonise. However as it would take at least 4 years of travelling at the speed of light to get there my answer must be no, it will never happen. Lucky world!
No, I don’t think so. Our time will end before we can advance that far and have the money to pay for it!
@Jaxk I think we could do it. Voyager 1 has averaged about 3.5 AU/yr just drifting. We’d still need to perfect some form of hibernation (cryogenics, nanostasis, or something) because it’d take a while, but we could make it without FTL. If we matched Voyager’s speed, it’d only take about 72,300 years (give or take) to reach Alpha Centauri.
It should go without saying, but I’ll say it anyways; just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
