Cosby can't be prosecuted. So why not admit the rapes and let the whole issue go away?

Despite his denials, it seems like evidence and testimony is getting even worse. Why not admit what he did and maybe the whole subject will die? His reputation is already ruined and he’ll never work again as a comedian. So why not put the terrible publicity to rest?
