Help finding a song that is (very) vaguely in my memory?

Hey all, one of those super annoying things, I’m trying to find a song that I randomly remembered while watching a video, the part here is what sounds similar to it.
I’m not sure but I think it might have an owl city song, it had sort of a dance vibe to it, seemed more instrumental, and in the chorus, it had this sort of “pulse”, it’s really hard to describe, it almost sounds like someone saying something, fairly high pitched. I believe it was a fairly popular song. Now I have what I can remember of it stuck it my head.

The tempo was a bit faster though I think.

edit: oh yeah if you haven’t seen dye fantasy, it’s a little… strange lol. Sadly not the song I have in mind though.

Also for some reason I feel like dance was a part of it, maybe it was in a movie or the music video, possibly a club of some sort or something. That could be totally random though.

That was my first time seeing the Dye Fantasy video. Dude, it was so trippy and awesome! It reminds me of the kind of stuff my friends and I would have gotten high and watched in art school.
Anyway, it’s hard to say what your song is from the information given. Do you remember anything about the video you saw it in? Characters, setting, anything like that?
Otherwise, you could put the Dye Fantasy song into http://www.music-map.com, or start a Pandora radio station for it. It will probably take a while, but your song might come up eventually.
I didn’t notice this, but a lot of time you’ll find playlists on youtube as suggested links from the original video. The video you posted didn’t seem to have one of these. But if you find a similar artist on music map, you could surf around on there. There will probably be a few playlists for this style of music.
Sorry, I got bored with the whole thing about the time it said “Quest item….” and so have no idea what you are looking for unless it was that nondescript pap in the background in which case I have to wonder what or why you are trying to find out about it.
@rojo The background music sounded like the song I am thinking of enough to put the original in my head almost perfectly, but I just can’t figure it out. It’s driving me friggin insane.
