@talljasperman Have you clicked on them?
I see the following, for example.
Index of /crapfactory/curiosities/2013
• Parent Directory
• December/
• Thumbs.db
• april/
• august/
• february/
• january/
• july/
• june/
• march/
• may/
• november/
• october/
• september/
Apache/2.2.25 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.25 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at slightlywarped.com Port 80
When I click that I get I get similar to that:
Index of /crapfactory/curiosities/2013/september
• Parent Directory
• 0-template.htm
• 1908_olympics.htm
• amazing_and_tragic_photos_of_a.htm
• amazing_color_photos_from_history.htm
• amazing_facts_and_things.htm
• black_and_white_pictures_from_yesterday.htm
longer list.
Try going through your History and hope that your page is saved.
…It doesn’t have to be clicking just one thing.
By the way I already have the page (the tiny url above) I just want to get there from the Slightly Wrapped page.
@flo edit… sorry that I can help you.
When you click the “Back” button, your browser goes to the previous page that you were looking at. It isn’t necessarily a page that is related to the page you are currently on (i.e., it isn’t necessarily related to slightlywarped.com. It could be any page, and we don’t have access to a list of the pages that you were looking at before the page that you linked – so we can’t know how to get back to it. Even then, knowing what the previous page was will not necessarily help anyone to navigate to the new page, and vice versa.
The idea that @talljasperman suggested helps you work your way through different pages on the slightlywarped.com website – this might work if the last page you looked at was also on that website, but not necessarily.
Depending on which browser you are using (is it IE? If so, which version?), you might be able to work your way backward through other pages you looked at by left-clicking while holding down the back button. However, this will only work if the back arrow is blue.
If your back button is greyed out, this implies that there is no previous page for you to visit. It means that you arrived at the current page by opening a new window. If you want to revisit the page that you were on when you opened the new window, then you have to know what it was, and navigate to it again. First, see if you have other windows open, or other tabs open, and look there. If you are having a hard time remembering what the page was, you might try looking at your history (In IE, do this by clicking on View > Explorer Bars > History). The problem with this is, depending how many pages you visited today, you might have to look through a lot of information before finding the one page that you’re looking for.
Thanks everyone. Re. the tiny url, I copy and pasted this thread by error, but that is not neither here nor there.
Anyway how I got there was search result for tatoo removal nightmares
I chose the 3rd image
then I clicked on the isolated image
I did open in a new window though that is for sure that is why there is no way of tracing back.
@dappled_leaves
I clicked on @johnpowell‘s link for example, and yet, the back arrow greyed out I didn’t open in it a new window.
@johnpowell I don’t see the image related to the search term or the search term or…I don’t understand.
@flo ”@dappled_leaves I clicked on @johnpowell‘s link for example, and yet, the back arrow greyed out I didn’t open in it a new window. ”
Then it must have opened in a new tab – so the page you were previously looking at (i.e., this page) was still in the original tab. Fluther never takes you from a question page directly to an outside link – it must always open a new tab or new window, depending on the preferences you chose for your specific browser. Try it again, and look at which tabs are open.
@flo Excellent – in future, if your back button is greyed out, check to see if the previous page is still open in another tab. That might solve your problem.
