Ignoring credit cards, money, and license, what's in your wallet?

I recently needed to clean out my wallet so I could pass through a security scanner.
It was readily apparent that not everyone uses their wallet as a tool chest.
What non-traditional items are in your wallet? I’m hoping we can swap some tips. This might also help a few folks with Christmas present suggestions.
(I’ll give my list later.)

I switched to a front pocket wallet years ago because I was sick of having a brick in my back pocket. The only thing I have in my wallet that isn’t on your list is an mmj card and an ID badge.
This could get confusing. A wallet here is a slim thing that men store money in? A purse here is a small holding thingy for coins for a woman. A handbag is a bag held by hand by women that you guys call a purse! (The tool chest also threw me!! you either have a huge wallet – wow- or it’s something else).
Just a couple of photos of Mrs Squeeky, the rest is as you said credit cards, money, and my license..
Buisness cards & photos of my kids.
Stamps and emergency medical and contact information. A secret folded $20 bill hidden under some credit card in addition to normal $25 or so in bills.
Library card, insurance card, cards to a handful of doctors, expired local zoo pass, bus pass, some old receipts.
A hunter’s training card from 1975, membership cards to The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, membership cards, insurance cards, and some business cards.
Postage stamps, dry cleaning receipt, appointment cards, a receipt for the TV we bought two months ago, one band-aid, a post-it note with an amusing German sentence on it, a Buffalo Sabres hockey ticket from the game that was played on the day that Rick Martin died, and a letter that my mom wrote to my dad 20 years ago. She was home, dying from hodgkin’s lymphoma and he was in the hospital recovering from two surgeries. She gave it to me to mail but I forgot. I will never, ever get rid of that letter because it’s a reminder of how to encourage others when you’re having your own tough times.
Hope that wasn’t TMI.
Oh man…. @tedibear the letter… precious in so many ways.
I guess I am in the minority on this one. Here are few.
Bandaids
Benadryl
Wire tie retroreflectors
nichrome wire
sandpaper
P-38 can opener
Button batter
capacitor
There is more but I’d better stop here or you might begin to suspect I’m crazy.
I keep as little in my wallet as possible.. Besides two credit cards and a drivers license, I carry auto and medical insurance cards, two Forever stamps, and a list of my Rxs. No photos, no secret keys, rarely cash.
Arrrgh! Too late to change it…
.A button Battery CR2032
old train tickets.
also, what is a credit card?
other than credit cards and cash, I have membership cards to wholesale stores (Costco, Sam’s). I also have receipts from some purchases and ATM’s and I may have one or two old lottery tickets (I rarely buy them, I rarely check them). My license and other ID stuff is in another thing, which I keep in my handbag. It all doesn’t fit in wallet.
College IDs (the one I attend and the one I teach at), medical insurance cards, and a few shopper loyalty cards.
I haven’t had a credit card in well over ten years and I rarely carry cash. Debit card FTW.
Pills for emergency situations. I keep them in my wallet so that I know I’ll always have them on me, just in case.
@Adirondackwannabe I do consider it a tool box. Note that everything is flat and takes up the space of about one credit card. The P38 is a little thinker so it goes into the fold where there is some free space. Benadryl goes behind the stack of credit cards. The retro reflectors ties go above and below the cards.
I forgot to mention the box cutter blade and electrical tape.
A couple of receipts
A $1 refund from a meter at clearwater beach
A bus pass
A laundry card
A card with my info incase my wallet is lost/stolen
A Charlie Card (why??)
A school ID
An unsurance Card
AAA card
Right now I have two lottery tickets, an important phone number I jotted down, and a safety deposit key.
I have a small card holder that’s separate from my wallet that has my medical cards, a couple dept store cards, my insurance card, a NYC MTA card, a Buckle card, a library card, and a couple business cards.
As a side note, not related, but the question made me think of it. The chips they are starting to put in American credit cards now (they’ve been in cards in other countries for a while now) can have all the information stole with a little reader that can read the card information through your wallet or purse. You can block the signal with every day aluminum foil. Now they are starting to make purses with linings to block the signal.
@LuckyGuy Yeah but you’re prepared. That could come in handy.
One of the odd things that I carry in my wallet is … a spare car key. It has not been necessary yet, but I like to plan ahead a bit, too. I’ve also got a check – an actual, paper check – for deposit next time I go to my … grocery store, where the bank has a branch.
One of these things
..and no I did not pay that much, I got it free.
AAA card, craft beer club card for a local bar, college library card, a Barnes and Noble gift card I had totally forgotten about, university ID card.
My work id, a couple of receipts and a coffee card (they stamp it when I buy coffee). I bought this wallet because it doesn’t have much room, but I can fit my phone in it. Now if I had my other wallet here… that would include jewellery (earrings I’ve taken off and put in it, a necklace I’ve removed), many receipts, store cards, business cards (mine and other peoples’), elastic bands, loonies (Canadian coins). I can’t think what else.
Nothing out of the ordinary really. Some club membership cards, store loyalty cards, a receipt from the last restaurant I ate at.
