I would say compromise and just trim the beard. Maybe take it down to some stubble. Oh, and wear some long sleeves! Good luck getting a second date after giving her poison ivy.
haha its not a full beard.
Shave, definitely. Show her that you are making an effort by “cleaning up”. Wear a clean, pressed shirt and pants, and nice shoes (few young men appreciate this, but it is a sign of seriousness). And, you can’t “give her poison ivy”, so don’t worry about that.
Hmm, what do you look like if you don’t shave? Is it Don Johnson? Or is it more like this? If the latter, shave!
P.S. Long-sleeve shirt even in hot climate to cover poison ivy.
she knows I have poison ivy should I still cover it?
I agree that you should clean up, but don’t false advertise either. If you usually have some sort of facial hair and would be growing it back, leave it be. You don’t get her used to you being clean shaven if that’s not how you normally are.
Also, my husband has a beard and once in a while will shave it off. His skin underneath is a different shade than his face and it looks weird for about a week.
yeah I usually have my facial hair
I wouldn’t change it then. If that’s who you are then that’s who you should be on the date. That’s just my opinion. Just neaten it up a little if you need to.
@fireman-I was speaking sarcastically when I said that. Sorry. I wouldn’t worry about covering it up. Its not likely it will spread to her, and any woman that uses that as an excuse not to go out with you probably isn’t worth your time.
@marina-A long sleeve shirt is actually cooling during the heat. It keeps the sun off your skin. Just make sure its light colored and breathable, usually cotton. Thats why people in the middle east are covered up, and also for religious purposes.
@FIRE_MaN Hey, as long as she knows, no long sleeves necessary. I just didn’t want her wondering all night if you had something serious! It would take away her focus on you as a person.
@marina yeah I told her, I didnt want her thinking “how on earth did this guy get herpies on his arm??” xD
sorry to double post but I might have some poison oak also… Can that spread?
“Fluid in the blisters does not contain the toxic poison oak chemical, urushiol. If the blisters break, the fluid will not cause the poison oak to spread.
Scratching other parts of the body with contaminated fingernails can spread poison oak. The toxic chemical can remain under the nails for several days unless carefully removed by thorough cleaning of the nails.
A person who has washed thoroughly and has changed into clean clothing cannot spread poison oak. The only way to become a victim of poison oak is to make direct contact with the toxic resin. This is possible by coming in contact with a contaminated person who has not washed properly or changed into clean clothes.”
thanks,
I was wearing gloves and I have short nails so I guess I’m good >_>
thanks for the advice… If anyone is following this and wants to know how it went, she didnt show…
Ooh, sorry FireMan. That is very unfortunate.
Sorry fireman, that stinks.
I’m so sorry. Sometimes people suck. There are plenty more dates out there. I hope you find a better one the next time.
Chin up man. Just remember that at least you made the effort to turn up her loss.
