What can I do with a bird chick?
I found a baby bird in my garden, I think it has fallen from it’s nest or blown out. Something like that. I can’t find a nest it could have come from, so I have been keeping it and feeding it. My mother doesn’t like birds. We can’t keep this bird forever. What can I do?

You can ask your local animal rescuse organization or something like that to take care of the bird for you.
There are Certified Wildlife Rehabilitators in every state.
Google that term along with your zip code and call the one closest to you. They will raise it and release it when ready.
They handle this type of situation all the time.
Google “wildlife rehab, [you town’s name}” and find a local wildlife rehabilitator. They will know how to care for it properly.
How long have you had it? How young was the bird – feathered or no?
If it hasn’t been long, and it’s old enough that it had feathers, put it back where you found it. Unless a baby bird is in immediate danger, you are never helping by stepping in when you find one. Baby birds spend a lot of time on the ground building up their muscles and learning how to move around.
The rumor that a mother bird won’t take a baby back after it’s been touched by humans because of the smell is not true.
Birds are very delicate and your average person is not usually able to keep them alive. Only a parent bird or a wildlife rehabilitator will be successful. If it hasn’t been long, put it back for the parents to find and they will pick up where you left off. Otherwise, like everyone else has suggested, turn it over to a wildlife rehabilitator.

Yes to @Mariah ‘s sharing. NEVER attempt to feed anything until you have professional guidance. All birds and mammals must 1st be hydrated before any food is introduced and every species has specific requirements. Baby birds and mammals of all kinds should never be given cows milk. Most diets consist of some sort of mash, insects such as meal worms, vitamins, and fruits and seeds depending on species. Dog food, milk, eggs and bread will kill baby birds. The best thing to do when finding a baby bird or mammal is to keep it in a warm, dark and quiet place away from people and other pets to minimize stress and contact your local wildlife rehab group asap.
