As a Buddhist I’m offended. That’s not the Buddha there. Westerners always make that mistake.

I am sure there is an american magazine that no one outside that country has ever heard about before.

@hominid Oh man….figures someone would come up with something like this. haha..Sooo bad!
@Darth_Algar Really? Well, send loving kindness to the mistaken Buddha artist. lol

@Coloma

Yeah, that’s Hotei, a figure from Chinese folklore who’s also sometimes known as Budai (which might be partially where the confusion stems from). The Buddha is pretty much always depicted as a slim man, usually with a topknot hairstyle, not as a bald fat man.

I dunno, but there’s a South Park episode just waiting to be written.

@Darth_Algar I like the fat Buddha, I never knew the real Buddha was a little skinny guy, no fun rubbing his belly. haha

“I never knew the real Buddha was a little skinny guy”
How could you not know that?

I will say that my post about being offended was in jest. Personally I have my doubts that Buddha (or even Siddhartha Gautama) ever actually existed, skinny or fat.
