Do snowmen have souls?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33578points) January 13th, 2015

Apparently so.

It’s so hard to take religion seriously when this sort of policy comes from a religious leader.

Oh come on, kids have been building these since there were kids. I was thinking of course they have souls, because the kids love building them till I read your link.

Buiding something with an image of a human being is sinful? Maybe it’s time to take down all the statues in the world.

The Taliban blow up those ancient Buddhist monuments for the same reason.

Apparently so. The right wing of the Republican party is trying to pass legislation that life begins at precipitation.

They can have ahh-souls if you poke a small one around their bottoms.

@filmfann – there go our freedoms… drip. drip. drip

Snow angels must have, surely.

@filmfann Damn, that was funny!

There’s no such thing as a soul.

Yes, but it’s made of soul-id ice.

I saw this quote in the article: Another claimed that building snowmen “is imitating the infidels, it promotes lustiness and eroticism.”
“Lustiness and eroticism.”?! I must be doing it all wrong.

That explains the wet spot on the front of my pants. I guess it isn’t water.

Snowmen don’t have souls and religious scholar Mohammad Saleh Al Minjed is a crazy SOB.

I thought it was some magic left in that old top hat. I guess God blew the breath of life into his carrot, and now Frosty has a soul. Hey, a white man with soul! Neat. Now, is he a migrant, an immigrant, a visitor, or a citizen?

No! ‘Cause they ain’t gots no feet.

Do the Saudis ban emoticons? Would this get me in trouble? => :( We are so patterned to recognize faces that we automatically see two dots and a line as a face. Avoiding drawing faces must be difficult.

dappled_leaves's avatar

@LostInParadise I’m not sure I agree that recognizing emoticons as faces is automatic. I remember having to explain them to many, many people on their first encounter! We’re so inured to them now that we think they were always obvious.

Would you say that two lumps of coal and a carrot stuck into a snowball represents a face?

dappled_leaves's avatar

@LostInParadise Are you asking me this? I think a snowman face looks like a face, yes. Doesn’t everyone?

LostInParadise's avatar

Only because of our proclivity to see faces everywhere.

dappled_leaves's avatar

@LostInParadise I’m not sure how that’s relevant to my response to you, but okey dokey.
