How many leaders of countries other than your own can you name? Heads of state?

I feel woefully inadequate.
During the recent tragedies in France, I found that the name of the French leader did not even ring a bell.

Not very many off the top of my head maybe 3 or 4 and people will scold me for the spelling
1.US Obama
2England Cameron
3.USSR Puttin
4.Isreal Net en yahoo
I would like to see honestly how others do just off the top of their heads. and people who want to bitch about my spelling ,(keep it to yourselves)
Netanyahu, Benjamin for the record, @SQUEEKY2, and to forestall the bitching.
Putin, Vladimir.
The question is genuine. I’d like to know, too, spelling be damned.
@ibstubro Your turn how many off the top of your head, you have to leave out the US but you can include Canada. where I couldn’t.
You already made me a cheater, @SQUEEKY2. I might not have named more than Russia, although I knew England and Israel.when you named them. I do not know Harper embarrassed to say, but I’m bettin we both know North Korea and maybe some others.
al-Assad for instance, from the nooze.
@ibstubro This is a good question I am amazed at all our super geniuses not diving right in on this one.
Ooh, an auction. I open with a conservative bid of one round dozen.
Come on @ucme step up and name the ones you can.
I think @ucme can name six brace of leaders, but is unwilling to show his hand at this time. Catch 22.
Okay, @SQUEEKY2 seeing as its you ;-}
Barack Obama – USA
Stephen Harper – Canada
Tony Abbott – Australia
John Key – N.Z
Putin – Russia
Angela Merkel – Germany
Francois Hollande – France
Jacob Zuma – S.Africa
Shinzo Abe – Japan
Netanyahu – Israel
Hassan Rouhani – Iran
Paul Biya – Cameroon
I had Germany, too.
Castro count?
GQ @SQUEEKY2, hey that rhymes, maybe I am a super geniu…oops, not your question :D
If you did those off the top of your head, I am impressed @ucme .
As am I, @SQUEEKY2.
But then again, I’m a feckless Amerrycan.
I can only think of 5 off the top of my head. That’s awful! If we count a few Governors in the US I do a little better. Just because the US is so large. That’s my excuse for Europeans generally knowing more about several countries in Europe very well.
Venezuela – Chavez
Russia – Putin
Germany – Merkel
Israel – Netanyahu
And I think Mexico is Peña?
America I’m not counting since I’m American.
Edit: I should include Castro in Cuba.
This stuff is stuck inside my head, almost randomly, same with capital cities, historical dates & sports knowledge @SQUEEKY2
So yeah, you should be impressed :D
Maduro in, Chavez out, @JLeslie.
Death has a tendency to do that!
We can surely give you and for that matter @ucme Kim of North Korea?
You see, me, I don’t recognise Kim as a leader, more of a deranged little shit.
Same reason I left out Cameron :D
Yet, @ucme, you named Pootin. ~
But that give you a pass on Castro, too.
Putin is cool, for a bear shagging homophobe least ways.
Castro is not deranged, he’s a cigar chewing, dirty wizard with a beard you could lose a badger in.
1. Vladimir Putin: Russia
2. Kim Jung-Something: North Korea
3. Fidel Castro’s brother: Cuba
4. ____ Chavez: Venezuela
I could name plenty of past leaders.
I can’t remember names of anyone until I hear them, then I can say right or wrong. Isn’t Kim Joung Iel in N. Korea? Right now I have less memory than usual for names. My boss is fighting for his life in the hospital. I can’t seem to focus on names.
I think there is some guy named Attila in Mongoia, and Mulan is the Empress of China.
Isn’t the Head of the moon ragingloli?
Really, I tried, but names are not coming to me at all right now. Maybe in the spring.
Chavez is gone, it is Nicolás Maduro now.
Yes, Chavez dead a year now.
LOL. My Venezuelan friends would be so annoyed with me.
I knew North Korea. That should have come to me right away.
Barack Obama.
Kim-Yong-Un – North Korea.
Shinzo Abe – Japan.
Xi Jinping – China (I had to cheat with this one. There is a different pronunciation for his name in Vietnamese that is unrecozgnizable for foreigners)
Vadimir Putin – Russia
Yingluck Shinawatra – Thailand
David Cameron – England.
I could have gotten Xi Jinping if it was a connect the lines.
Cameron, for the record, is Prime Minister of the UK, not just England…for now anyway.
@SQUEEKY2 I just noticed you wrote USSR. There is no USSR anymore.
Obama
Angela Merkel
Hollande
Netanyahu
Enda Kenny
Kim Jong Un
Al Assad (maybe)
Robert Mugabe.
All of them. Unfortunately I won’t be able to oblige you as it would take up far too much of my precious time… that I spend responding to completely random topics on the internet.
