Why would my omnibox stop working as a search engine...

Asked by longgone (19717points) January 15th, 2015

…and how do I repair that?

I used to be able to just type X, and be referred to a google page with results. Now, I get taken to an error message – something about a “timed-out” connection?

I’m using Chrome, and as far as I know, I did not change any settings. Google as a search engine works fine, as does everything else.

@longgone Well, how about going into “Settings”, and making sure that omnibox is even set to use Google as a search engine?

Not very bright, are you?
