How to remember and update songs in your head?

Asked by elhaha1001 (383points) January 23rd, 2015

Do you know how people could remember songs which are current and remember them forever in their mind, but without them having to purchase them or keeping them in their ipod?

I love updating my knowledge of current songs, however I usually have to download them illegaly because that would be a lot songs to purchase, but I usually pay for the ones I love.

But if purchasing is not an option, how to remember the songs i’ve heard or come across?

I notice that some people just know the current songs without having them purchasing it.

do you know any tricks? thanks

I don’t think I’d recommend stating you “download them illegally” on an internet forum. Just a thought. I learn artist’s style and cross reference them that way.

One can always listen to new songs over and over again on YouTube.

In the old days we learned them by listening to the radio, where they’d be played a lot. One can still do it that way. That’s why everybody knows the words to “Don’t Stop Believin’”

I have more trouble not remembering songs. I go line dancing and hear a number of country and pop songs weekly. Then they play over and over in my head – often at midnight – all through the week. I think some people just have good music memory although the YouTube and Spotify suggestions above make sense.

Voices are like signatures how could you forget, guess it’s easy for me been into music, know my artists like the back of my hand, the songs just become hardwired into my head if you like.
