I have trouble watching TV with commercials. I guess I’m just not mature enough. The commercials take so much away from the show. Instead I watch shows on Netflix commercial-free. Sure, they are out of date, but so am I.
I liked “Breaking Bad”. It is probably my favorite. Too bad it ended. I also enjoyed the series “Malcolm in the Middle” and could see a completely different side of Bryan Cranston.
There were many clever tie-ins between the two shows.

Probably Stalker, followed closely by Lawn Odor: SUV and Sleepy Hollow.

It depends on the day and my mood. Shows made in the US I like are Scorpion, Elementary, Castle (I still think of Nathan Fillion as Captain Mal) and the like.

@LuckyGuy: that’s why I DVR everything. Lack of patience.

As far as a show that’s still being produced: Game of Thrones for me.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Mr. Pickles
Rick and Morty
Through the wormhole with Morgan Freeman (not sure if it’s still on television)
Space Dandy
Off the air
Anything on adult swim, really. In fact, I think that adult swim is the only television I really watch. There’s so many alternative sources for entertainment that are not only more convenient, but also cheaper.

@canidmajor I agree. The DVR makes it tolerable but that is still not as good as being immersed in a show that has no break.
Ever since I was young I’ve had a thing about commercials. I’m not sure if my parents taught me or if I learned it myself: The commercial is there so they can put ideas in my head to make me give my money or time to someone else. That’s it.
They call it a commercial break for a reason and that is my time to get up and do something else: pee, put the dishes in the dishwasher, put the dishes away, start laundry, check fluther, answer an email. I must get up. You won’t find me succumbing to deep vein thrombosis.
If I find myself sitting and listening to a slow motion drug commercial for something worth 100 points in a Scrabble game, Xaljazeb, Zanaxajif, etc. that is my early warning sign that I am turning into a slack jawed automaton and it is time to turn the TV off.
I am advertisers’ worst nightmare.

@LuckyGuy : I’m too cheap to do Netflix or those, but that means I’m also too cheap to buy anything with an advertising budget. ;-)

I really like Madame Secretary.

@dappled_leaves I also figure every cent spent on advertising is not going into the product development or quality. If it isn’t a drug ad it’s for Toyota or Nissan, Progressive or Geico Insurance. Why? Why do they feel they have to push so hard? Is there something going on? Ads cost millions of dollars and that money has to come from somewhere. There are a few choices: the product features and quality, employee salaries, supplier pricing or shareholder profit. (You can relax. We know it didn’t come from the CEO’s salary.) When I buy something I want to pay for the product not the advertising.
TV ads are a negative sales incentive for me.

After a season and a half, I have finally given up hope that Gotham would ever be the show I hoped it would be.
