What are you like in real life?

Asked by Haleth (18947points) January 26th, 2015

We know some things about each other, like hobbies, favorite foods, and political leanings. Is your real life personality any different from your fluther personality?

~What is this real life that you speak of?

Not much different, maybe a tad less self-confident at times.

Younger, thinner, richer.

More grumpy and neurotic, because I can’t just log off.

The same. Cynical and impatient.

I usually smile a lot. In a crowd I like to mingle, meet a lot of people, and I care that people feel comfortable.

When my husband and I are together and out with others we are not joined at the hip, we go about our own thing, but if we wind up near each other I think we seem like a close couple.

It’s hard for me to focus on one thing for hours. Maybe that’s true for everyone, I don’t know. I can do it, I just hate it.

I love to hear and tell stories.

I like to go out dancing.

I don’t like surprises, but I do like to be spontaneous. I prefer to have a plan though.

I think I usually seem quite laid back and not easily ruffled in real life, until I am, and then my temper is a little out of control, especially lately. I’m too quick to raise my voice the last year, and I don’t like it.

The difference in real life is I talk about politics a lot less and almost never talk about religion in real life. I do ask questions about a religion if there is something very specific that triggers it.

I think on fluther it might seem like I eat healthier than I actually do in real life. I try to be good, but haven’t done well in a while.

In real life I’m less articulate. I express myself much better when I can take my time and let the words slowly percolate. I wish I could speak like I write.

I think I appear stoic at first but I’m a big joker at heart. I’m a bit slow to speak though, not the loudest voice in the crowd.

In real life I am a coke dealing pimp that cheats everone, uses women like paper cups while I cheat on mt trophy wife which i had sign a prenup so if she gets tired of my womanizing ways, she can pack and go home without getting a hook into any of my 100s of millions stashed away in foreign accounts.

I tend to say a lot less stupid stuff in my real life.

I’m a lot more shy and reserved IRL. I do call it as I see it and don’t hold any punches during conversations.

One of my attorneys now has me call clients when we need things quickly or when we need to be blunt. Comes in handy. (That must be one of the reasons I got a $3.00/hr raise.)

I’m very sarcastic and keep my coworkers laughing, especially during stressful times.

quiet and boring.

talljasperman's avatar

I’m whimsical. Sometimes i’m angry and needy and high maintenance. Usually I keep to myself.

jonsblond's avatar

Quiet and not as outspoken. I’m more of a people pleaser irl.

Just as moody and imperfect in real life as on here.

Noticeably more audible.

Social and happy. I don’t talk about serious stuff unless it’s brought up first. I get flirty sometimes.

I can be funny and vivacious, I can be quiet. I meet and talk to strangers for a living, so I am good at investigating and inquiring about sensitive subjects, and I am also good at small talk (as one of my bosses told me once, I’m a good bullshitter). I like to talk to people and find out about their childhoods, where they live, their hobbies, etc. I like to visit friends and catch up on what they’re up to but I am also very happy staying home alone, enjoying some solitude. I have a long commute to work so days I don’t have to go anywhere are like a gift.

I was an only child until I was a much older teen, and I had a child relatively late in life, so I am accustomed to being alone and I really enjoy being by myself.

Incongruent.

The people who seem to click with the way I think in my head don’t necessarily socialize within the same circles with how I am socially.

~I am what I am not.

I’m very funny, I sing out loud in public, especially at work. I am very passionate about certain things (love, animals, British stuff, cooking, etc.) I feel things very intensely, more so than you’re average Joe. I love to write and be precise in my writing. I try to be useful. I try to be the best friend that I can be. I tend to enjoy some of the more nerdier things, but not computers or computer games, nor Legos or that sort of thing. I like Star Trek and The Big Bang Theory. You all know that I love Fran Drescher and Alan Rickman. Make your judgments now. Take me or leave me.
