[NSFW] Guys, at what age and in what manner did you discover masturbation?
NSFW _Disclaimer: Per backdoor request to be fair in question asking, a question for males, not those females are sure to have something to say, even when they do not know.
Guys, at what age did you discover masturbation? Did you discover it on your own, was lead that way by older brothers, came across it in a book, (seen it on the Net, something we did not have back in the day)? Did you learn to jack off from a girlfriend, some girl known, female relative like a cousin. When you 1st did it, did it live up to what you heard or it took many attempts before it had the desired effect?

Why do your questions always seem a little pervy?
I was 12 and skipping school. I was going to kill myself with a knife in the living room and accidentally was stroking myself with the knife. I had my first orgasm and I started my porn watching from then. I was so messed up. God used sexuality to save my life. I’m still a virgin but, what little that I did, with a real human, lead me to boredom. So I am not missing anything other than companionship. I hope I answered your question well enough.
Damn, @Hypocrisy. You just can’t win with this group. :)
“Led”, for gosh sakes. “Led” by an older brother; “led” me to boredom, etc.
Believe it or not, I enjoyed the feeling (and recall it vividly) from about the age of 5, although I didn’t climax to orgasm until around 14. And I was scared beyond imagining that night, because I had no idea what had just happened. I had the feeling of being somehow pulled apart with the intensity of the feeling – and that fluid – what the hell was that? (Sex education wasn’t then what it is now.)
Ah, good times. They led to where I am now.
Around age 14, could have been 13. I don’t remember.
Discovered it all by myself – no one taught me. I remember surprising myself with the outcome and thinking “I don’t really understand what just happened, but it sure felt good”.
Some things are better left unsaid. This is one of those things.
oh yeah. a bunch of 50+ year old men answering the Q. This is really getting pervy.~
carry on fellas
I don’t get the “perversion” part of some objections. It’s a rite of passage to adulthood. I also recall my first kiss and my first with-another-person sex. It was a big deal then, and just a fond memory now. (Well, except for that first kiss. That was a huge disappointment because of who it was with.)
I disagree with @kritiper obviously. We’re all adults here. And what’s to hide? We’re all humans.
Of course if you knew me and my real name and we were co-workers I might not be as open, but you’re all anonymous scribbles on a page.
Bout 5 months.
Just seemed the thing to do.
FUCK!!
You just made me GA @Darth_Algar which I was sworn not to do!
Had my first orgasm while sliding down a rope at about age 7. About that time I spent the night at a friends house who was the same age and sex as me (male). He showed me all about masturbation and we also masturbated each other. It was pretty cool. Later he told be that we were homo’s. But I said no way. I asked him which would you rather play with, a girl or me? Answer: girl of course. We were too young to spend the night with girls so we got by the best way we could.
Unlike some of you, I knew about it before I actually tried it. That was part of being a late bloomer and having decent sex education. I had sex ed at age 11–12 and knew what masturbation was (in a general sense), but didn’t try it until I was 14. I remember before I ever tried it, I was once just lying on my bed thinking about a boy I liked, not even touching myself, and almost having a hands-free orgasm. Didn’t quite happen, but the feelings were intense either way. About a year later when I was 14, I finally tried it when I had some time to myself in the bathroom. I remember being nervous about it and almost stopping several times, but finally doing it all the way in the end. I knew I’d be doing it many more times to come after that ;)
You know, I just don’t know. I have tried to look back and remember but it just seems like I have always done it.
I was 11 or 12. My friend Paul, who was the same age but older in life experience, explained the process to me in graphic detail. A few days later I tried it in the pool at the YMCA (there was no one else there). It worked, and my life changed forever.
@Darth_Algar Why do your questions always seem a little pervy?
Why, because masturbation is supposed to be nasty, debase or shameful? I thought it was the other way around, that it was natural and something everyone will eventually do. In fact, I would bet my dollars to anyone’s donuts if a person was to say they were 21–25 years of age and never ”handled themselves” once most here would say they were lying or they were weird. I am curious, what is so ”pervy” about it? Every male eventually goes down that road unless they are a monk or Amish, and I am not too sure about them.
@talljasperman Yes, thank you for your honest and deeply personal answer, hope it is the start of a trend and not just a Fluther answer anomaly.
@jonsblond Damn, @Hypocrisy. You just can’t win with this group. :)
You figure? I can think up many more Boring Questions for them, you think they would like that?
@CWOTUS And I was scared beyond imagining that night, because I had no idea what had just happened.
Wet dream snapped you out of your sleep?

We all get there somehow, I am sure in some cultures the road there takes a long time, or it might even be a religious experience…..I do not get how it is perverted unless it is really supposed to be debase.
@Hypocrisy_Central – i disagree with only one thought in your paragraph above. You wrote “It’s a rite of passage to adulthood”
My disagreement – I believe that many adults of both sexes regularly masturbate. Single, married, gay, straight, old, young, you name it – adults know how to take care of themselves.
Masturbation isn’t just for kids any more :-)
^ I quoted it, but I did not say it, I am not the phrase originator…...just saying.
@Hypocrisy_Central
The issue isn’t this question particularly. Rather it’s a pattern I’ve noticed with you. A sizable lot of your questions seem to be sexual in nature. I’m curious as to why that is.

I could ask that of society, of which we all are a part of, that has need to use sex to sell just about everything or slather it all through movies, TV, and music. If many of my questions that is noticed has a sexual lean to it, it is maybe because those are the questions that get noticed because that is what is one the minds of some, maybe many. It is no secret in the US sex dominates most conversations, ads, and such. I have other questions but they just go ignored because maybe they are too deep causing too much thought, and questions of sex are lower on the tree. I say watch out for the questions, and keep count over the next few weeks and we will pick this up again to see if you are as correct as you think. ;-)
