~Why is that guy listening to our conversation he looks creepy. Most of the time teenagers are texting and communicate in private. I have no idea. They only talk when in the back of the bus. when I was a teenager I didn’t talk to my classmates other than to tease them.

Well, when we were teens we talked about quantum physics, calculus, microbiology, and world peace.~

The same things kids have talked about since about the advent of radio: chiefly themselves defined as, entertainment, sex, fashion trends, celebrities, their ‘unique insights’, dancing, music, shopping, means of communicating and modes of transportation.

It just has a lot less depth as time goes on, as technology changes. There was a time where you’d only talk with a classmate during school. Then there was telephone. Internet. My Space. Twitter. You can break-up, make-up more than once a minute. Our actions used to be considered more, by necessity.

Here are what a typical person of my age in my place talks:
School gossips.
Latest news/comments about singers/bands (the most popular).
Hairstyle, make-up accessories.
Gossips about other people.
Interesting places to go.
Movie/book/music comments/recommendation (the second popular)

I’m curious about what the older generation talked too.

@Mimishu1995 “I’m curious about what the older generation talked too.” I think that would be a GQ on its own.

That’s just it todays teens don’t talk to each other, they text.

My 14-year-old sister talks about:

-Internet memes

-How a cute boy from class likes her, even though she is SUCH a huge nerd, OMG (she is smart and pretty)

-How she ships John and Sherlock from the BBC show, she thinks Benedict Cumberbatch is hot, and someone drew them as an otter and a hedgehog

-minecraft

-One time at dinner she said her classmate told her about anime porn. We were at a seafood buffet. My dad scowled while eating a mountain of crab legs (although he didn’t stop eating) and my sister backtracked so hard. She hasn’t seen it herself, she has only HEARD that it exists, from her classmate, who she doesn’t hang out with that much anyway.

-Homestuck, an online comic about teenage trolls who play a computer game, which is drawn in MS paint

-Will Doctor Who ever have a doctor who is not a white man?

-How one of her classmates (the anime porn one?) is bisexual, and has a girlfriend, but her parents don’t know about it.

As the parent of two teenagers, I can say that a couple of people here are talking out of their arse :D
They talk on a wide variety of topics, school/college/uni or careers/money/family.
Of course they’re into music/gaming/relationships & “fluffy stuff” that teens have always been fond of, but it’s a diverse landscape they wander, long may that continue.

@Haleth I assume she has seen this.

Sex, school, parents, love interests, TV shows, music, dating, where to go this weekend. Basically, the same stuff they always have talked about.

One Direction and what’s going to happen now Zayn’s been sacked!

My teenage daughter readily informs me that Zayn from OneD left the band of his own accord, wasn’t sacked.
