Has your principal or teacher ever had to break apart students who are getting romantic?

I have been broken up several times in Junior High with my Art/Gym teacher.The principal took off the art room door so we couldn’t have privacy to make out.

How come she wasn’t thrown out for getting so close to a student?

@ZEPHYRA It was 1992… things were different back then (also the school was short staffed ,, thats how you can have the gym teacher doubling as a art teacher). I also had to do a science exam with my shirt off. Because the female science teacher thought I was cheating. (I had straight 100% and she didn’t believe that a class clown could know all of the answers.)

Yes. Hell, at our Catholic High School dances, the nuns would walk around with rulers to make sure that we left room for the Holy Ghost.
[addition]: Oh, and the rulers also doubled as skirt-length testers.

Things were not different in 1992, which is when I started teaching. If your teacher was doing that they would no longer have a job. Things really WERE different in the 70’s, but if a teacher was obviously making out with a student, they would have been fired then, too.

Once, in HS, my hands were full of books and my chin itched. My bf’s hands were full of books so he scratched my chin with his teeth. We both got sent to the principal’s office for “PDA.” I was a good kid, so Mr. Austin just kind of grinned when we told him the story. Nothing happened to us.

@dxs And knuckle whappers.

@Dutchess_III Luckily, I was out of the corporal punishment era for the most part.

When I was in high school, there were about 10 couples that would come really close to having sex between the lockers, standing up, with their clothes on—between every class. They became so regular that none of us noticed them anymore and teachers never bothered to break those couples up. Teachers were allowed to hug kids, give shoulder rubs, etc.

When I became a teacher, it was 20 years later—things were really different. The only “hugs” I ever gave were one-arm, side-by-side and were pats, not hugs—and only gave those if someone’s dog or grandmother died. I was instructed to break up any PDA—but only had to break up one “get a hotel” scene in 9 years of teaching.
