Spock is gone. Join me in wishing Leonard Nimoy a pleasant journey to other star systems?

Leonard Nimoy was the nicest celebrity I ever met. I liked Star Trek and all, but I never went out of my way to see any of the cast except for him
He took everything his fans said seriously. Once a woman in an audience I was in said that her mother went to high school with him and he took time out of his day to talk to this girl about going to high school with her mom.
People would tell him that he saved them from suicide and he always seemed humbled. You have no idea how many times people in the audience said Spock saved them from suicide. It was amazing.
Thank you, @elbanditoroso for posting this sad note here.
For me, Spock is one of the most unforgettable TV or movie characters ever. Though a fictional character, still he embodies a number of inner strengths and character traits I try to emulate in my own life, particularly his knack for remaining implacably calm in the midst of total chaos.
Speed on, Spock, speed on, and may you continue to “live long, and prosper.”
His character was one of the most inspiring icons to ever grace the screen.
He will be missed, but his legacy will be immortal.
Beam me up Scotty.
The next great enterprise is on the horizon.
He lived long, and prospered.
I’m a bit sad about this one. He was a huge part of my childhood.
Thanks, @elbanditoroso, I had not heard.
Honestly, Spock – Leonard Nimoy – was a lot of the reason I kept coming back to Star Trek. He was just so cool. When I was a kid, I wanted to be Spock.
For me, Spock and the original story lines were Star Trek. I’ve never watched a sequel or a movie.
Finally, he leaves the namby-pants Shatner on some distant planet and takes the bridge.
Nimoy’s Spock is a bastion of intelligence, logic, and calm. And he only had a few minor missteps
RIP Leonard Nimoy, LLAP Spock. He’s dead Jim… But will live forever in the space-time contnuum.
He put the nerd in Leonard. R.I.P.
Not going to lie, never liked Star Trek, but any actor who can transcend their craft to become an icon of popular culture, deserves respect.
“We are assembled here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. And yet it should be noted, in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most… human.”
-Captain James T. Kirk
I know most of you don’t like Twitter, but i’m on there & just noticed this, ultimately, his final tweet:
@TheRealNimoy: A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP
@WilliamShatner: “I loved him like a brother. We will all miss his humor, his talent, and his capacity to love.”
Another tweet, this one from Kirk…obviously.
He was one of a kind. He is gone but will never be forgotten.
It’s so very dad. Another icon of my youth gone.
Goodbye Spock. Great character, great man.
The order is given “warp speed”.
Goodbye Spock, rest in peace.

RIP to an intriguing character. He was a part of our childhood kaleidoscope of TV personalities.
“I think about myself as like an ocean liner that’s been going full speed for a long distance, and the captain pulls the throttle back all the way to ‘Stop,’ but the ship doesn’t stop immediately, does it? It has its own momentum, and it keeps on going, and I’m very flattered that people are still finding me useful.”—Nimoy on his career
Vale Leonard Nimoy. Thank you for entertaining us so well over the years. You can’t see it, but I’m giving you the vulcan salute.
Thank you Mr. Nimoy.. for the memories..
I’m sure that he was a great human being. Wish that we all knew more of the real Leonard Nimoy. Sadly he will always be known as Mr. Spock who was one weird dude. The Spock character seemed like he suffer from Asperger’s Syndrome with his social awkwardness and inability to enjoying humor. And everyone was laughing at him behind his back. Oh everyone would quickly change their tune when Spock would save the day now and then. I wonder if he wrote an auto biography? It would surely be good.
@gondwanalon—He wrote 2 autobiographies. And he was not a super private man. People know a lot about him other than his role as Spock.
How much luck did he had with the Romulants after their failed invasion?
He may have travelled the universe, but his roots were here in Boston. Farewell Mr. Nimoy.
He was a great man who will be greatly missed.
Although his character is perhaps best remembered for the phrase “Live long and prosper”, for me his most powerful statement was Never Forget.
Here are some tributes to him.
Such a wonderful man, gone. This might make some of you cry. I know it made me cry. I’m going to miss Leonard Nimoy and Spock so much.

Was Leonard one of your crushes @Kardamom? It’s interesting that he was smiling in a couple of those photos. If you watch that programme with him and William Shatner talking, he said avoided smiling as Spock because he didn’t think it worked for the character. It’s a really interesting programme.
@Earthbound_Misfit Oh yes, I loved Leonard Nimoy and his character as Spock. It was hard to narrow down those pictures to 10 because I probably have hundreds. He was such a lovely and talented man. After Star Trek the TV series ended, my Dad and I used to watch him on the show In Search Of.
The clip I posted has made me cry every time I’ve ever seen it, including the first time I saw it in the theater.
Here’s a great picture of him Smiling
