Which chaise lounges do you like better?

Asked by StaceyD (215points) March 4th, 2015

My husband and I are debating about chaise lounges for the yard this spring. Our old ones definitely need to be replaced. I would like these wicker chaise lounges because they look comfortable and sturdy. Plus, they are 2 for 1 now which makes the pricing competitive to the ones he is looking it. http://www.designfurnishings.com/outdoor-wicker-patio-chaise-lounges/Royal-chaise-outdoor-wicker-patio-furniture-SKUROYAL-1x-TERRACOTTA.html

On the other hand, my husband wants these portable chaise lounges and thinks they look lightweight and affordable. I question if they can hold some of our heavier guests. Plus, they will wind up costing almost as much as the ones I feel look more luxurious and durable.

What do you think? Which do you prefer and why? We have some time as we are still waiting for our tax refund to arrive.

I prefer the second one, partly because I strongly dislike the look of the first one and partly because I think it would be cooler to sit on in summer.

If cost is a factor, try looking for similar styles in different stores. The second chair is a common design.

I like the style of the first but I much prefer a lounger with arms so I probably would go for something like that one.

I would never – ever – buy from someone who sells furniture for a living and still can’t (or won’t) spell chaise longue

In any case, I’d be more apt to opt for an Adirondack chair. But if you simply must have the chaise, then I’d go for a style more like this.

If you need to put it away every night then the second one would be easier. But if you are able to leave it out (minus the cushions i would think) then the first one looks comfier. I have Lafuma chairs which are very comfy and portable. Worth the expense as I have cheaper versions also which are far less durable. I would like the wicker type of furniture though as I think gives a nicer, more luxurious feel, and it looks comfortable like a sofa in your house. The Lafumas are amazingly good though
