Do you like roller coasters?

Asked by rockfan (14632points) March 5th, 2015

I’m watching a short, but interesting video about the physics of them, and it’s making me want to go on one so bad! Roller coasters are something I’ve always loved. What about you?

Not really, I have had some fun rides over the years but I don;t really care for the whiplash factor and hoping that the crappy little tow cables are strong enough to not fling me off the pinnacle of the matterhorn. lol
Funny because I was an avid white water rafter and life long horse woman and both of these sports are high risk, but, at least there is a small measure of control, even though you can biff it big time on some wild rapids or bite the dust on a crazed horse, their is still a modicum of “control” that is missing from being a mere passenger.

No, I tend to feel regret when on them, and look forward to getting off them, more than I enjoy being on them, though it’s an interesting experience. I like tamer rides. I actually rode a virtual rollercoaster yesterday (3D glasses, computer simulation, tilting car) which was interesting and I liked the absence of the actual speed and fear.

I fucking hate them, like all fairground rides, I get dizzy stirring a cup of tea.
What I hate more though is when people refer to a roller coaster in terms of their lives, being on an emotional “journey” STFU

I dont like them at all. The last time I was on one I almost lost my glasses. I will never go on one again.

I used to until I started getting ocular migraines and migraines with aura. I can’t handle the twists and turns now. :(

Love them! I done Space Mountain at Disney World with three cracked ribs. My wife and I have gone to Busch Gardens for a day ridden 6 coasters in a day.

I don’t enjoy them much. I like them if there aren’t any extreme falls and nothing extreme in general. I’m nervous about going on them at all after an accident I had that gave me severe vertigo. I’m afraid of a ride moving the delicate crystals in my inner ear out of whack again. Although, the last few months I have some dizzy back – sucks – and maybe a roller coaster ride would know I things back into place.~

I hate the rickety/dizzy roller coasters. I love the amusement park “King’s Island” and they have about 4 roller coasters that extremely fast, but also really smooth

No no, rather be operated on than get on one of those!

I love them!! Especially the moments when I feel myself lift off the seat :)
Roller coaster rides always seem a little short to me.

I’ve never been on a rollercoaster, which probably indicates strongly my feelings towards doing so, no, no, no, rollercoasters are not for me.

My dad was a mechanical engineer. When we would go on rides he would point out what bolts were holding things together and spit math about what would happen if that 99 cent bolt broke.

I no longer go on rides that aren’t water slides.
