I unintentionally misstated something in a Q, but now the Q is gone. How can I fix it?

Asked by JLeslie (65743points) March 12th, 2015 from iPhone

I was so worked up I forgot about it. I just don’t like feeling I said something that was incorrect. I had said I had not PM’d someone and I had forgotten I did. It was recently after no messages for many months. It doesn’t change anything, if I told you the details you would know why. I won’t though. I just want to correct my mistake.

I think all you can do is this. You’ve corrected the record to the best of your ability.

I know how damned easy it is to fixate on an error—and somehow it seems especially true when the error is one most likely no one but you even knows or cares about. My advice, like @cookieman,‘s is to let this one go (and proof better next time ;-).

Lol, @JLeslie if its gone then why care? Who will see it?

If a question is asked in the fluther forest, but deleted, who can read it?

I imagine the question is about those who had already seen it and seen the error.

Probably, but I just wanted them to know I realized the error and correct the record. It doesn’t really change the outcome. The PM sent to me was not an answer to the question I sent them, but rather an indirect, mysterious, read between the lines, answer. That’s why I didn’t put two and two together, and in my emotional state after reading the PM I didn’t remember.
