Asked by cathyanderson (31points) April 1st, 2015

I’m looking to get a new jacket. I like coach jackets, Hoodies and mostly outerwear stuff, but yeah tell me what’s your go to jacket for spring.

It really depends on the climate you live in. In spring I mostly just use a cardigan sweater or hooded sweatshirt.

I have a down jacket for the winter, and a really thin one, where even the wind goes through, for the rest of the year.

I have three and they’re all sweatshirts. One doesn’t zip at all, one zips about ¼ of the way down, and one zips all the way down.

I have quite a few, denim, fitted little blazers i have in different styles, they look cool, smart, and with jeans smart casual, but i love wearing my little soft leather jacket which is just right because it’s not overly heavy the leather is soft, like butter, but yes anything light and stylish, i love wearing brighter colors to in Spring.

The bottom line up front: I’m a windbreaker kind of a guy. It’s cool to be able to just wad them up for easy cary and storage. But I also have a variety of jackets designed for a variety of conditions. I select the jacket to match the conditions for that day or event (I never pick a jacket based on brand, style or color). I try to pick a jacket that is on the lighter side of functionality (windbreaker). I’d much rather be too cold than too warm especially when I’ll be physically active.

I have a thin-ish, but still lined Esprit jacket I bought years and year ago. It’s a solid colored neutral grayish color with a hood and is quilted—and lined just enough for 40 to 50 F degree weather.

Anything warmer than that – I usually skip a jacket and just go with a sweatshirt or sweater.
I do have one “wind breaker” (it’s a nice brand.. like Fila?) that I found for $2.99 at Goodwill and I will use that for running outdoors when I just need a little protection from the elements.

Actually, more than 75% of my wardrobe comes from the Goodwill…and they are very nice brands. :)

Cannot beat a zippered hoodie as opposed to a pullover. Instant ability to regulate warmth.
