The weather has finally warmed up, well at least I hope it has for some of our East Coast Jellies. It never cooled down here, so it’s always like summer, but it seems like a long time since we had a potluck. What will you bring?

I’ll bring the BBQ’d St. Louis ribs with smashed red potatoes ( cheddar cheese and olive oil ) with deep fat fried dill pickles. I’m in a southern frame of mind.
How about a big bowl of a great Mac salad.
I’ll bring cold soba.
And it’s summer time for me so how about this?
I’m in… and I’ll bring PEANUTS.
My amazing cashew cole slaw and deviled goose eggs! We have chicken, duck and goose eggs rolling out of the nest right now.
I have a couple Tri-tips I am carving up, and adding garlic butter noodles to.
@Coloma, that sounds deee-lish. I adore deviled eggs.
@Pachy I’d rather eat deviled eggs than chocolate : )

Is food the enemy?
Giving a dinner party has become
an ordeal. I lie awake the night
before figuring how to produce
a feast that is vegan, gluten free,
macrobiotic, avoiding all acidic
fruit and tomatoes, wine, all nuts,
low carb and still edible.
Are beetles okay for vegans?
Probably not. Forget chocolate
ants or fried grasshoppers.
Now my brains are cooked.
Finally seven o’clock arrives
and I produce the perfect meal.
At each plate for supper, a bowl
of cleanly washed pebbles. Enjoy!
I made neither chicken and noodles nor carrot cake this Easter. Those are my two signature holiday dishes.
Instead I made German Chocolate Upside-down or Earthquake cake. My recipe matches nothing I see online exactly, so I didn’t link. I could give it easily enough, anyone wants it.
@ibstubro I’ve never heard of an Earthquake cake. What does it involve?
@Kardamom I think it involves a middle aged guy cooking alone maybe after a few cocktails. lol ;-)
