12. I looked the same from then to now.
Um…48. Just the way I feel, I guess. Not quite the energy I used to have, but far from done, too.
17–19. I look a bit younger than I am.
In my mind, 21.
In the body 70.
It depends on the day and what activity I am doing. If I am just laying down or sitting comfortably in a chair….I’d say about 28.
.
I am chronologically 55 but some days feel like I am 105, others 35, so I guess the average would be about 65. I have really felt my age the last year or 2 now, middle age sucks.lol
43. I am turning 60 in a couple months, I am in the best shape I have been since I was 42.
18. I want to stay that way forever.
As old as can be,
As young as can be,
So much experienced,
But still an immature brat
50. I’m 47. I’m hoping to regress to a younger age in the coming months.
There’s a Zen koan that asks the same question, but in different terms: What is your original face before your parents were born?
This leads to a very interesting perspective. I have this story about myself, which is largely the history of this particular body as preserved in incredibly sketchy memories, or extrapolated from various points of reference. What if I set that autobiographical narrative aside and look just at what is (and what isn’t)? That’s my “original face” that has no reference to my parents, or any other starting point.
I find that this original face has no age at all.
Much younger-looking than my actual age, about 35 in apprearance. 88 in spirit!
I’m thinking I should start having dinner with our 16 yr. old horse here. I can share her bucket of Equine Senior & rice bran with glucosamine supplements. lol
26. That’s the age when I first felt completely independent, felt like I had something to offer the world and was beginning to have a sense of my knowledge and competence. In other words, almost fully developed, let’s say the nucleus of what I have become now at twice that age.
There’s never an end to your “formative years” as long as you are open and engaged in the world and yet, my essential self was all there at 26.
67. It has been a rough seventeen weeks.
Today I feel about 84.
Haven’t been sleeping well because of a heat wave here inspite of having the AC going 24/7 the last 4 days or so and now I have come up lame. Just finished soaking my sore right foot in the some epsom salts on the porch. I have been tromping all over the property here in flip flops because it is just too hot for socks and boots and now I am paying for it with my 55 year old hooves.
On my way down to the barn now to feed horses, limping along. Good thing I wasn’t born a horse a 100 years ago I’d have to be shot. lol
