What's the most ticklish part of your body?

Here’s a not-so-great answer.

It depends.

If I am with a lover and unclothed, then something like a feather or a fingertip on my back gives me the shivers and tickles me.

If I am sitting with a grandkid and we’re in a tickle fight, then my arms can elbow joints are ticklish.

As for why people can’t tickle themselves – the brain prevents it – the brain is allowing the hand to create the tickle, but also is in charge of the tickle sensors on the skin. The brain is pretty smart – those to functions cancel each other out.

My neck. Growing up, people used to tickle me there because they thought my reactions were hilarious. But if people took it too far, I completely hated it, because it would get to the point that I couldn’t breathe. I would run from anyone I didn’t trust enough to stop. :-/

As for the second question, I’ve always wondered that myself. I always assumed it’s because if we try to do it ourselves, it’s expected.

Overall I am not very ticklish, feet no reaction, and can be extremely stoic, but do the neck or knee squeeze and I will jump 3 feet in the air. Don’t ask me why, free association, but…this reminds me, it’s been awhile since I did one of those great towel snap maneuvers, I love towel snapping people. Twhack! lol

I have quite a few ticklish spots but my feet are the most ticklish. I can’t stand people tickling my feet. Other places, my neck, the sides of my body, my back, my bottom… most of my body can be ticklish if touched in the right way, but not to the point where it’s too much.

My mind.

Probably my feet; they seem to react more strongly that my sides or armpits or something.

I am not that ticklish. I feel enjoyable sensations when touched but not the “giggle ‘till you pee yourself” ones.

Ok, if I have to pick a site more sensitive than the rest it would be my left nipple area for some reason the right one doesn’t get the same sensations
