Does anybody know what to avoid eating with peptic ulcers?

Asked by Aster (20028points) April 14th, 2015

Yesterday , I pigged out on beef stew with rice. The day before I had a chopped ham casserole with pasta and cream of chicken soup. This morning at 3am I became sick again, and ran to the bathroom until 6am. I think my colon is completely cleaned out. I’m sleepy but I don’t have chills , nausea or fever.
Did those recipes do this to me? I had been back on the treadmill , cooking and doing laundry and now this happens. TIA

Do you know that ulcers are the cause of your symptoms?

Ulcers can be caused by poor biotics in the gut. You might also want to find out if you have gall stones. Ham and cream can trigger a reaction to too much animal fat.

I would seek treatment using this information: http://www.cdc.gov/ulcer/consumer.htm

@cazzie thank you. I had 3 days of treatment in the hospital . They gave me an upper endoscopy and said I have “multiple bleeding ulcers.” So I guess I’m lucky I can sit here and type. I am on iron pills and I found out that eating my big casseroles with sauce makes me sick. This is really cutting down on just what I can eat. They said I got the ulcers from taking one to two Advils every night for nine months.
