I’m guessing running in traffic on a freeway.

Glad you’re back from your break; running straight into traffic against the flow.

Purposefully walking out in front of an on-coming vehicle while not in a designated crosswalk.

Being pissed off that you have to walk the damn bird again! How come she never walks this thing?

What would be a mitigating circumstance for jaywalking?
Whatever that is, the opposite would be a starting approximation for describing aggravated jaywalking.

If you jaywalk in order to escape a mugger, you might make a mitigating argument. If you jawalk because you are too lazy to walk another 10 yards to the crosswalk, and you cause an accident, you might make an aggravated argument.

A friend of mine got a ticket for Jaywalking several years back.
He was walking across the street, out of the crosswalk lanes in Berkeley (certainly not a big thing), when a car that was obviously speeding approached him. He purposely slowed down so that the car would have to slow down for him. Well, the police car that was about to ticket that car didn’t like it.
