Edited because, well, wrong.
Yahoo! (among others) to the rescue.
quaternary = fourth in order or level
quinary = fifth in order or level
senary = sixth in order or level
septenary = seventh in order or level
octonary = eighth in order or level
nonary = ninth in order or level
denary = tenth in order or level
Unless you are referring to the fourth to last, which is “preantepenultimate”.
(The fifth to last is “suprapreantepenultimate”.
I was just about to say what Gail said. (Ha!)
I knew I could get better and funner answers from you guys faster than I could figure out how to word the query somewhere else.
Thanks so much! :-D
@zenvelo I think you’re thinking of songs from “Mary Poppins!”
Now that the gang’s all here, who wants to come over for tea and cake?
Yup, @gailcalled, “funner”. A deliberately whimsical moment in a rainy morning. Not all statements need to be absolutely grammatically correct in a light-hearted exchange.
Would that be grampatically in the masculine gender?
Oooooh, @janbb, I saw what you did ther! (I left off the “e” to enhance the concept of the masculin.). ;-)
Finding this little discourse quite informative and amusing. “funner.” haha
I thought it was four degrees of Kevin Bacon :)
So, if one were to be considered the suprapreantepenultimate punster, that would mean that there are four better (or worse)?
I’m incorrigible, don’t incorrige me!
@zenvelo been there, done that!
my bifocals made it look like you said foul play!
