I’ve just started to notice that my keyboard on my iPhone (1st Gen 8 Gig) has a delay whenever I type a message in the Mail app using the 2.0 firmware. This never happened before. Anyone else having the same problem? If so, do you know how to fix this?
Thanks

I’ve found the same occasionally even on 1.4, not as badly though by all reports. Only solution I could ever find is the ol’ trusty, off and on again. You do understand though that there were a few errors in firmware 2.0 (crazy but true), as far as I know the version of 2.0 that floating around now fixes a lot of those little problems.
Yes, ive noticed this problem when I text. It’s so slow, but not all the time. Hopefully next version will fix this..
I was finally able to get the problem to go away by doing a soft reset. I did download the official firmware release last Friday, so I know its not the issue. I hope the next update will correct this for everyone.
Thanks

Yeah that’s the stuff. Apple quickly realised there was a problem with the firmware, and updated the firmware on itunes.
Bless em, they’re having a bad week.
Ya I’ve noticed that my 1st Gen iPhone is all around a little slower w/ the 2.0 software. Especially since I’ve installed quite a bit of 3rd party apps onto it, it’s been acting up. I’ve noticed that just a quick reset fixes most of the problems at least for a couple days.
I’ve noticed it with my ipod touch, and I’ve also noted the spotting on the keyboard is WAY off, I can’t even type what I want to anymore, I was afraid of this happening the first time I bought it but it worked so perfectly back in January, even if it was vertical and tiny, sometimes I even have issues with it horizontal now, I never had that problem with 1.1.4
Like I said there was some serious flaws in the first release of firmware 2.0, they’ve fixed it. Have you tried restoring? Other than that back to 1.4 might be the way to go.
Call me crazy I actually prefer 1.4
