How do you ask a question that cannot be asked (at least by Fluther standards)?
If you have a question that is plausible, thought provoking but to ask it correctly means to include naming or referencing current, past, or dead Jellies, how can you ask it, since it is verboten? You could word it in such a way that the only way to answer it is ”yes”, or *”no” then you cannot ask it because it would be reduced to a polling question; again, verboten. Guess there are just questions you cannot ask on Fluther.

Does it really have to come to that? If I really have to include a jelly, I can just refer to them as “one jelly”, or, in the worst case scenario, I just use a short description of the most noticable trail of that jelly (like “a goose-lover”).
And vague reference to a jelly is still fine on Fluther. Here is an example.
If you need to reference a particular user, even if only as an easily identifiable description (such as “goose lover”), if it’s not in a negative way, ask the mods if it’s OK.
If it is in a negative way, you’re probably just SOL, unless you can hypotheticalize the crap out of it.
And some questions probably just can’t be asked, more’s the pity.
I sent you a reworded version of the question previously, but it seems to have gone missing. I will send it to you again.
Gee, I wonder who this goose lover could be? lol
Gouldn’t you just refer to the characteristics of that jellie as they are relevant to your question?
I cannot imagine you need to refer to a jellie as much as you need to refer to some typical trait or action of that jellie?
I personally think this jelly naming rule should be written down on the site rules though, especially for new people.
@canidmajor OK, @Hypocrisy_Central, curiosity has taken me over! Do ask the Q, please!!!
As soon as I can figure how to use the suggestion Q, @SavoirFaire without gutting or completely changing the dynamic of the question to make it an alternate question but not the real question which cannot be asked in a way it would make sense.
@whitenoise Gouldn’t you just refer to the characteristics of that jellie as they are relevant to your question?
I found that problematic as not every Jelly knows the details of every other Jelly, especially those who just showed up and might not know who loves gooses unless they scoured past threads to glean the detail of that, Or if I would say the Canuck zombie slayer, if you just showed up, or hasn’t been active on a near daily basis, it may not be clear who was being referred to.
PM the question to someone who cares?
Whatever you do, just avoid mentioning mammary glands and avian species in the Q itself.
You can ask on another site .
^ You can ask on another site
I would if I found the other site, not that I have not been looking.
