What happens to a question that is pushed back to edit but stays unedited for too long?

Asked by Mimishu1995 (23800points) April 27th, 2015

For instance a jelly ask a question that needs some editing. The mods push it back for editing. The jelly receives the question and the mods’ message but just leaves it there and refuses to edit it. What will happen to that questioj if it stays unedited for so long?

I’m just curious since some new jellies tend to leave their pushed back questions unedited. I wonder what happens to all those questions…

Nothing, in my (old school) experience.

There is always a “You have a question that needs editing.” box.
I had a question that needed editing for months until I got tired of the warning box.

It resides in jellimbo.

I still have an editing question from when they put the federated tab up on April Fool’s Day last year. It’s still there, telling me I have a question that needs editing.

I have several. I have never bothered to fix them. I just have them as “keepsakes”.

They disappear into the “petemod” eventually…..I suppose.

I hope they don’t delete it because I can’t edit it from my iPhone and I’m on another continent right now. I won’t be to my laptop for a week. I asked the mods if just this one time they could correct the spelling error for me (just one word) but I didn’t get a response, so there it sits.

Nothing at all, they are left up for eternity.

@Judi Sorry about that. Sending you a PM to explain.

Its not in limbo. The NSA gets to hold on to it as examples of things they are not looking for or they investigate it because they think it is a coded message.

In all honesty, if you don’t edit and repost it within 24 hours you may as well abandon it. If you DO post it, it won;t go on the front page. It will go into where-ever the front page was when you first wrote it. Which might be five or fifty or five hundred pages back, and no-one will ever see it.

Repeat @downtide‘s post.

@downtide @ibstubro I know. I’m just curious of what happens to an unedited question, supposed it belongs to a new jelly who doesn’t know much about this place and choose not to edit the question.

Apparently they fixed my question for me (kind moderators) but I’m still getting the “you have a question for editing ” message with no question when I click on it. Oh well. It won’t bother me until the next question gets pushed to editing lol.
