Does your taste in music change with the seasons?

Asked by hominid (7357points) April 30th, 2015

I have always had music that I associate with different seasons. I have found myself unable to listen to my winter music, and can only listen to spring music lately.

Do you retire music during certain seasons?

I hate listening to Christmas music in the summer. I only listen to it in the winter. During the summer I listen to beach-sounding music!

The only music I regard as specific to season is what we might call Christmas music, which I dearly love
A close second is Ohio State Marching Band music in the fall
After that it is pretty much anything goes any time. Especially blues. U2. And Lady Gaga

Only with some bands I strongly associate with certain seasons. No Moody Blues till it’s warm enough to lounge around outside, and then lots of Moody Blues. Same with John Prine, to a lesser extent. I definitely play more Grateful Dead in the summer. RJD2 is good in the fall – pensive, like. Radiohead anytime, but especially good in the winter.

I’m trying to think of spring music but now I have “Springtime for Hitler” in my head and it’s driving everything else out, so I’ll have to get back to you on that one.

Absolutely not, if I like the tune then that’s it for me, no external sources interfere.
