How often do you launder your non/down (primaloft) pillows? How often do you replace them?

Asked by gailcalled (54647points) May 10th, 2015

How precisely do you launder and then dry them? I remember being told to throw several tennis balls in the dryer but don’t have any on hand. Would an old sneaker work?

Old sneaker or in the absence of that, I’ve heard a tuxedo cat would work fine.

I usually just end up buying new when the old one gets too flat – that is, the pillows, not the tuxedo cats.

I toss them every 6 months or so. They’re cheap.

You’d better hope that Milo doesn’t know where you live :)

I never wash my pillows they are truly disgusting like ancient mummy wrap. I have clear skin and shiny hair, I dunno.

When they don’t unfold. Then I buy new pillows.

I don’t usually wash them. I get them fairly cheaply at Costco. Usually 2 for 10, and they’re good quality.

^^ When do you replace them?

I replace mine when they get bent out of shape. I have about 10 pillows between 2 beds.
