What are Civic Duties?

Asked by Cosmos (648points) May 10th, 2015

What do you regard as your civic duties? Are they different if you are a home owner rather than a renter?

No they are the same for everyone, pay your taxes on time, obey the law, do jury duty if called upon, and if needed fight for your country.

Duties of a citizen are to obey the laws of your society, show up for and if selected serve on a jury, pay your taxes, vote and some say volunteer for community service and serve in the military,. I am not sure why owning or not owning a home would alter these or why you would you use that particular line of demarcation?

I myself question the military service requirement since it obviously does not apply to those in power only to us peons.

I don’t vote and I would never join the military. Of course I am too old now anyway. haha
I pay my taxes, obey most laws, show up for jury duty, contribute to my community.
4 out of 6 good enough. lol
