Who was the better father to Son Gohan?

Piccolo. Much more civilized, refined, mature.

Piccolo was his master, Goku was his father.

@Esedess I sort of agree with this. But while Kakarot has a good heart, he’s also a fuckin idiot. If it wasn’t for Piccolo, Gohan would be dead a long time ago. Both Kakarot and Chichi know the world is harsh. Chichi would never let him train, and Kakarot would just go with it. Either because he does everything she says, because he’s always gone, or because he’s dead somewhere.

Funny you should ask this, because I was honestly appalled while watching DBZ on how bad Gohan’s parents are. I know it’s just a show, but egads. Chichi wins for responsibility, but she’s too much in denial about Saiyans and the dangers of the world.

I’m not nominating Piccolo as any better though, because he only trained Gohan out of necessity.
