What songs remind you of what movies?

Asked by jca (36062points) May 29th, 2015

This morning, on the radio, they played “Right Back Where We Started From” by Maxine Nightingale. The song was featured in the movie “The Family Stone” in the scene where Sarah Jessica Parker went out to the bar with her boyfriend’s brother. She was dancing around with the song playing on the juke box.

Even though this son was popular when I was young, when I hear it now, I think of “The Family Stone.” When the song ended, the DJ on the radio mentioned that that song always reminds him of the movie “Slap Stick.” They then started talking and laughing about that movie, how they loved it so much.

So, “Right Back Where We Started From” reminds me of “The Family Stone” and reminds the DJ of “Slap Stick.”

The spaghetti western music makes me think of Clint’s eyes, just before he draws his gun.

I know it’s not a movie but when I hear either “Ride of the Valkyries”, “Blue Danube”, or “The Marriage of Figaro” I immediately think of Saturday morning Looney Tunes.

I never tire of this plaintive Henry Mancini theme, which always makes me think fondly of one of my top 10—maybe top 5—favorite films from which is comes, Two for the Road.

@jca I think you mean ‘Slap Shot’ (not Slap Stick)

@RadioFlyer: Yes, I guess it’s Slap Shot. Thanks for the correction.
