What was your favorite restaurant in which you ate a meal?

Asked by Kardamom (33481points) June 3rd, 2015

Maybe it’s your local diner, that you go to once a week. Maybe it was some little out of the way place down a narrow street in Paris. Maybe it was a fancy place that you saw on The Food Network, or listed in Bon Apetite magazine. Maybe it was some little joint just off the highway that you happened upon while you were traveling for a vacation.

What’s the name of this place, where is it located, and what did you eat? Have you been there since and was it the same as you remembered from that wonderful meal?

Ive eaten in tons of different places but nothing yet as good as my local Chilis.

Then again, Im not much of a “fancy food” guy. Id much rather have a nice full plate than a perfect tiny morsel that looks pretty.

I eat in quite a few restaurants, but one that I really love is a little French restaurant in Sydney. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is lovely and the staff are always approachable and fun. I’m not a big dessert eater, but they bring out this tray of the most delicious looking desserts and we always share one. Their barman also makes the most amazing Old Fashioned. Then we can walk back to our hotel which is just around the corner. It’s one of our regular treats when we’re in Sydney.

There are very few restaurants that I keep wanting to go back to, but I love this one.

Au Cheval in Chicago. Its dinner food made with quality ingredients. Bon Apetite listed them as having the best burger in America… And it’s true!

All-around favorite is The Olive Garden in Boise. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Besides, it’s the place I developed a rapid fondness for Calamari.

Locally my favorite is Pizza Hut. The new pizzas that they introduced last year are the best I have ever had, and their Garlic/Parmesan boneless wings are exceptional. Of course the fact that it is maybe a quarter block away from where I live also helps.

My favorite used to be Chi Chi’s.
