Any suggestions for a temporary pond?

My mom is moving soon and unfortunately the house they are in the process of buying, won’t be available for about a month after they have to be out of their current home they just sold.
One of the many problems caused by this clusterfuck of a move, is that my mom has a pond in the backyard of the house they just sold, and the fish need to eventually get to the new house once it’s available, but until then, they need a temporary location. My stepdads brother and his wife have offered to let her build a temp pond at their house and this may be her only location option really, unfortunately they have A LOT of dogs so the temp pond needs to be somewhat dog-proof.
We have considered a lot of different options, but I thought fluther might have a creative alternative to suggest….
Here is the pond at the moment. There are about 30–50 fish and some are over 15 years old. The goal is for all of the fish to survive this move, (we lost a couple the last time we moved them.)

A portable swimming pool.
Yeah, but we were concerned that the dogs could do something to the pool.
You could try explaining the dilemma to the new owners and ask if they wouldn’t mind if you kept the fish in the present pond for about a month. Explain the situation and see if they’re willing to let you get the fish when the new pond is ready.
Otherwise, how about a few party coolers (leaving them open) or ice tubs (the kind for large quantities of ice at parties)? Keeping the coolers or ice tubs where the dogs cannot access them…..
That pond is beautiful! I’m sure it takes a lot of work to keep it in such nice shape. Wow. .
I like @talljasperman‘s idea of a small swimming pool. Can you put a screen over the top to keep the dogs and herons out?
I don’t think she likes the buyers enough after all of their stupid demands and stipulations for her to be willing to ask them. I did mention asking the sellers of her new home if she could set up the pond early, but she said she didn’t feel like they would feed them…..the fish are very well fed.
There is also an issue of the new house being out in the country and the fish might draw a lot of hungry predators.
She’s still working on solving that problem also, lol.
The neighbor who lives in a house near my mom had a koi pond and the herons used to come every day and pluck pluck pluck.
Asking the sellers of the new home is an idea that might work, if you offer to come every few days and feed the fish yourselves, so you’d know they’re eating and you’re not relying on the people to do something they may say they’ll do but they might not.
The cheapest way to go is a portable pool with some sort of temporary fencing around it to keep the dogs out.
