Imagine a man who insists that he is invisible, but he is, tragically, trapped in a visible man’s body.
He insists that people should act as if they can not see him, in order to be properly sensitive and respectful to this adverse circumstance.
Ignore the fact that this would mean that people would run into him on the sidewalk, or hit him with their cars when he crossed the street.
Would you cooperate, or suggest professional counseling?

Is he willing to pay you to participate in sustaining his delusion? If so, the only question remaining is the price you are willing to settle at to act a fool. There will of course be someone out there prepared to act a fool for free.
Wow. this is how most of my days go. I see people on the bus and around town, but 99.9% of the time I pretend I don’t see them. It’s the Scandinavian way.
No, I would be swept into the whole scenario and go along with him quite joyfully. Actually, I could go on like that for a long time.
Fred Bare is his name, same as the believability of the idea.
Visibility is not a social construction. It is a natural property that has to do with light and the laws of physics. It makes no sense to say that one is invisible when one reflects light in a particular way. At best, this man can think that he ought to be invisible and seek out ways of becoming so.
If, on the other hand, all he wanted was for no one to interact with him, I would point out that he is using the word “invisibility” wrong (unless he is using the word in a different sense), and that there are many things he can do to limit or even eliminate social interaction.
So basically an introvert…. because this is how I feel lol.
You really need to stop obsessing about Jenner!
Would you take a child seriously that dressed up in a labcoat and was convinced that he was a PhD physicist?
@ragingloli
No.
But…
I might pretend in order to amuse the child, and then tease him about it in front of his girlfriend when he grew up
Elwood P. Dowd the character in Harvey did.
Screw transinvisibility, I am a transfinancial. A closet billionairess trapped in the body of an insolvent middle aged women. I demand to be liberated and live as I was intended. lol
@Coloma
Now that is certainly something we can all identify with. Let’s get Congress on it.
Sounds like a real-life version of The Host.
