Will you help me resolve this issue with my mobile?

I have a Samsung X-Cover. The day before yesterday, it informed me it had “stopped Google Play Store”, whatever that means. I didn’t pay a lot of attention, because mobiles and computers frequently send me messages I don’t fully understand.
I turn my mobile off for the night. Ever since I turned it on this morning (two hours now), it has been sending me the same message about every twenty seconds. Using my phone is not possible at all.
I’ve tried turning it off, and I went to Set Up to have a look at the Google Play Store App, see whether it is possible to reset it. I can’t do that, though.
As you may be able to tell, I’m not much of an expert when it comes to smartphones. If you have any ideas, please try to use small words!
Thanks in advance.

The solution to your issues is to set the phone back to factory settings – basically wipe out everything and start from scratch.
Before you do that, I would attach the USB cable, go into your computer, and copy your Music, your Pictures, and any other folder that you have on the phone to your PC, and then reset everything.
There are several ways to do this. Simplest is to go into Settings, then Backup and Reset, then Factory Data Reset.
When I go to Settings —> Apps
, Google Play Store offers me the option “Uninstall updates”. If you have that option try it first. It may have glitched last time it updated and killed the app, but that should set it (and only it) back to factory conditions without affecting the rest of your phone. Also, “Clear cache” sometimes unfreezes the app, and the worst that will do is make the app not work; since it already doesn’t work, you won’t lose anything.
If those doesn’t work, then your best bet is to “nuke it from orbit” like @elbanditoroso suggests.
Thanks, you two. The problem is gone for now, but that has happened before. I’ll try your suggestions if when it acts up again!
